It is expected that the successful candidate be ACLS certified.Whangarei Hospital is the base hospital for all of Northland an area lying two hours north of Auckland, which includes the world renown Bay of Islands (fantastic sailing) and Poor Knights Islands (top ten dive site in the world). You can live at the beach (one of many in the area), surf in the morning and still be within 25 minutes of work.The job would involve a roster covering nights and weekends between six registrars and two House Officers in Emergency Medicine. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Fitness Programmer to create and deliver fitness programmes catering to all ages and abilities across our diverse community.

You will hold a recognised fitness related qualification and have a sound knowledge of fitness training including fitness testing, prescription and monitoring of clients.You will thrive on client contact and have a proven ability to communicate effectively, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction through the programmes you deliver.

Part of an energetic and proactive team, you are a keen team player with a flexible approach and an ability to use your initiative to provide innovative and appropriate fitness solutions.

Experience in administration and good organisational skills are required, as is a current First Aid and REP’s Certificate. Consideration will be given to applicants currently studying towards a recognised qualification in fitness.

We offer ongoing support and commitment to your personal and professional development.

This a part-time role of 20 hours per week. Shifts are on a seven-day roster and include evenings and weekends.
