On behalf of our client, we are currently looking to recruit an experienced buyer to join a Dunedin based retail market leader. This role will require a highly motivated individual who has previous experience of developing a retail team through day to day management, planning, forecasting and implementing sales and budget reporting and forecasting.We are seeking someone who has previous Lingerie experience in a sole charge capacity. It is essential that you have previous buying experience and a strong eye for detail, the ability to go with that gut feeling to know what product lines will be an instant hit will be paramount to the success of the role along with the following skills and attributes:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a mature outlook and the ability to lead a team, previous management experience is essential.
- Previous experience in buying, process and procedures with a strong business acumen within a retail environment, preferably in Lingerie.
- Proven responsibility in marketing and advertising with the ability to understand your market.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills along with a high attention to detail.
- Competent software skills and good administration within a retail based environment.
- Previous staff management and recruitment experience.
- A results orientated person that will take ownership for the department across full operational duties.
This is an important and very pivotal role within this large organization, with each department responsible as a separate entity within the larger picture! You will be responsible for meeting with suppliers and advertising budgets along with staff recruitment, rostering and management.This is a fulltime position with the hours set at 40-45 per week, Monday to Friday with a rostered weekend shift every 6 weeks.
