Oil & Gas Brownfield project Immediate start Our client are a medium sized specialist industrial consultancy who primarily are involved with the engineering design and management of heavy industrial and Oil and Gas projects throughout NZ and internationally.Applicants will have a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar) and with at least 6 years of industry experience since graduation. This experience should include design of the instrumentation, control systems and the electrical supply (up to 11kV) requirements for oil and gas and petrochemical facilities / projects. As this position is design orientated it requires familiarity with New Zealand and international design codes, particularly our hazardous area codes. Good communications skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential as you will be required to liaise with project engineers, designers, other disciplines, external clients and design verifiers.Position is based in New Plymouth with an immediate start.

- Prior experience in a manufacturing / service repair environment, preferably with heavy industry, automobile or machine upgrades.
- Familiar with air-brake repair maintenance & diagnostics.
- Ability to analyse and interpret hydraulic & pneumatic control circuit diagrams and fault finding.
- A good knowledge of relevant Engineering specifications, standards and sound engineering practices.
- Sound welding skills.
On top of all of this the client views this position as quite senior within the team. Therefore you will need to be comfortable assuming the role of team leader / leading hand when required.
This is a hands-on role working along with other mechanical engineers, engine examiners and servicing assistants in a team environment. As this company takes health and safety very seriously a pre employment drug test is a mandatory requirement.
