Te Ora Hou Otautahi is seeking persons to apply for the position of Case Manager / Supervisor for our youth transitional employment programme Mahi Tahi.
Te Ora Hou Otautahi is a community group that has been working with Maori and Polynesian young people in Christchurch since 1983. We have a strong Tikanga Maori and Christian ethos inherent in our programs and activities.
Mahi Tahi is a programme that helps young people to transition into employment by providing supported work placement and vocational training. Work placements typically involve labouring on construction and civil engineering projects.
You will be working with a group of 20-30 rangatahi supporting them in their development, and also working as supervisor on work placement projects. You will require strong positive behaviour management skills, empathy and understanding for our client group, supervisory or leadership experience, and an ability to develop strong whanau and wider community links. The successful applicant will also need a full drivers licence, basic computer and administrative skills, previous relevant experience working with rangatahi, and be committed to the mauri of Te Ora Hou.
This is a contract position incorporating 20 hours as Case Manager and up to 20 hours as Supervisor per week.
