This is a great opportunity for an experienced and switched on contracting professional to join an established contractor with strong forward work load in the position of Contracts Manager. This organisation has grown significantly over the past years thanks to their ability to deliver successful results.
They specialise civil and infrastructure construction including large scale land development, earthworks, siteworks, subdivisions as well as roading, drainage, foundation and concrete works. Due to increased workload and winning of new contracts they are now seeking an experienced and qualified Contracts Manager to join the project delivery team.
The Contracts Manager will be responsible for managing the delivery of projects from initial set up to final handover key duties will include: setting out, construction management of projects, subcontractor management, ordering materials, direct management of plant/ machinery, staff management on site, claims & variations, QA, H&S and liaising with consultants and clients.
To be successful, you will display the below attributes:
- Tertiary qualification in civil engineering (NZCE, Diploma or BE) is a must
- 10 (or more) years of civil contracting experience; this may include earthworks, roading or infrastructure construction
- Proven experience in customer service, site budget management, site administration, procurement and management of subcontractors and an ability to offer solutions to problems is a must.
- Customer/client management and financial management skills
- Demonstrated experience in management of people and resources
- Well-versed in the Safety and Quality practices within the construction/roading industry
- Computer literacy (MS Project, MS Access, MS Office suite)
