The NZQA Quality Assurance Division is responsible for ensuring the quality of non-university tertiary education organisations and the qualifications and programmes being delivered across New Zealand. A component of that work focuses on the management of risk within the private training establishment (PTEs) sector and the success of this work is critical to the reputation of the New Zealand international education brand. NZQA has recently reorganised its Risk Management business unit and is seeking to appoint a dynamic manager to lead the new team. The Manager, Risk Management is a new position that will be at the centre of NZQA’s quality assurance functions and will lead the development of its case management approach to risk management. The Manager will lead a team of eight based in Wellington, to deliver core risk management functions, including: the resourcing, coordination and oversight of monitoring of risk in the sector, the proactive management of risk cases and inter-agency coordination in matters of risk management. The Manager, Risk Management will proactively develop and manage a detailed decision making framework to coordinate all risk work, taking the best aspects of existing processes and incorporating them with learning and best practice from other sources.You’ll need some knowledge of the New Zealand education sector but we are primarily seeking a management professional who has a demonstrated track record of delivering outcomes and the ability to build a high performing team. To succeed in this environment you will thrive on the high workload and constant pressure and yet still guide and support your highly capable team.
