And some just want to change the world.About this roleAs an Open Source/ Middleware Solutions Architect, you will work with the companys sales team to provide deep technical insight into the JBoss Enterprise Middleware product portfolio. You will be in front of customers on a daily basis (both on the phone/web meeting and in person) and travel to client sites. You will have broad experience in the design, development, deployment, and support of enterprise Java/SOA applications.In the evangelist part of the role, you will speak at Java User Groups and other events about JBoss and J2EE/JEE technologies.This job requires constant learning of new technologies and how they can be best applied to this companys enterprise customers.Main Responsibilities
- Provide technical credibility to JBoss Sales Team
- Answer technical questions given to sales team by prospective customers
- Develop and conduct live demonstrations of JBoss products
- Identify the appropriate technologies to solve client problems
- Build relationships with clients technical staff to identify new opportunities
- Contribute to JBoss products via documentation (Wikis, Consulting Quickstarts, Reference Guides, Whitepapers) or development (Usage Examples, Bugfixes, Enhancements, Suggestions)
- Provide feedback to Product Management on product direction and feature usefulness based on customer applicability and feedback
- Work with JBoss partners and resellers to provide technical enablement and support
Required Skills and Experience
- Previous Pre-Sales experience or a natural talent for Pre-Sales and presenting to different groups of people
- At least 5 years of experience in Standard Java Development
- Minimum 3 years experience in Enterprise Java Development (J2EE/JEE) and System Architecture
- Experience in Standard Java Programming (J2SE/JSE APIs like JDBC, JNDI, JAXP, JAAS, etc.)
- Experience in Enterprise Java Programming (J2EE/JEE APIs like EJB Servlet/JSP/JSF, JMS, JAX-RPC/WS, JPA, JTA, JCA, etc.)
- Experience in Development/Deployment on J2EE/JEE appservers (JBoss AS, BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, etc.)
- Experience in Database design, Consulting, Pre-Sales/Sales Engineering and Technical writing
- Experience in conducting training with focus on teaching J2EE/JEE subjects
