Youre well known locally for your broad employment networks and relationship building skills and you thrive on being busy. You understand local and national employment trends and have your finger on the pulse when it comes to working with local ITOs (Industry Training Organisations) and employers to help source employment opportunities for young people.This role will be located at our Youth Justice Residence in Rolleston just outside of Christchurch, and also provides support and services to our Care & Protection Residence in Shirley.Our Residences operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are strongly focused on achieving positive change in young people through education, skill development, vocational and employment programmes and therapeutic interventions. This is all with the goal of successful transition back into the community. Join our Residential Services Team and facilitate positive outcomes for our young people by assessing their work readiness, and supporting them to find employment opportunities. Working with our Case Leaders youll be the link to identifying and accessing vocational and employment opportunities for young people transitioning out of the residence back to their local communities nationwide.Working in this environment can be both challenging and rewarding. To deliver successfully in the role of Employment Coordinator we are looking for someone who has experience assessing employment skills, up-to-date knowledge of the current labour market, an understanding and experience of connecting with ITOs and recruitment agencies and knowledge of Work and Income products and services. Youll have a can-do attitude; the ability to discover new employment opportunities for young people, be flexible and adaptable and have experience working with youth in a career focused position in the past.The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate their exceptional relationship management skills as well as their ability to think with vision, confidence and clarity.Child, Youth and Family, a service of the Ministry of Social Development (MSD), recognises and has a commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
