We are looking for an experienced Youth Worker with a real passion for young people to join the Youthline Auckland Team.You will be confident in your ability to connect and relate to young people, be flexible in your approach and also prepared to learn new skills to build rapport, create safe relationships and empower and motivate youth.Your relationship skills will be well developed being confident to relate to those around young people including whanau, teachers, social workers, nurses and other professionals. You will already have strong networks and relationships in the community along with a thorough understanding of the principles of youth development and health promotion and a proven ability to work multi-culturally.Your key responsibilities would include: Delivery of Youth Transition Services Case management services with young people and their families Mentoring young people Developing, co-ordinating, promoting and facilitating high quality youth development programs and presentations Linking with key stakeholders within schools and community providers Undertaking regular supervision and reflection on your practice Community networking, development and eventsYou will have: A minimum of 2 years full-time experience in youth related employment A relevant qualification in social services or a clinical area preferred A passion and heart for young people Proven mentoring, assessment, intervention and evaluation skills Good administration, written communication and public-speaking skills A flexible approach to working hoursThe position is a full-time, permanent salaried position, and though the majority of work is on week days during office hours, there is a requirement for some evening and weekend work.
