Transpower has a challenging career opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented Operations Planning Engineer, to focus on providing specialist technical advice on all aspects of system operations.
This is a pivotal role within the System Operations Investigation and Planning team where you will make a key contribution to the performance of the power system by:

Providing support in the areas of real time operations through accurate interpretation of security standards for the grid.

Monitor changes in asset capability information and newly commissioned equipment.

Assisting with reviews and investigations of system disturbances and events.

Be responsible for the co-ordination of planned outages on the system acting on behalf of the Grid Owner and the industry.
To succeed, you will need an understanding of electricity generation / transmission / distribution networks/operations and/or equipment, a tertiary qualification in Engineering or related Sciences, strong communication and relationship skills, attention to detail and planning ability. Most of all you will need good problem solving skills, a can do attitude and an ability to work with others.
