The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) is a Crown Entity tasked with ensuring that New Zealand qualifications are valued as credible and robust, both nationally and internationally.As Deputy Chief Executive (Qualifications) you will lead the division responsible for the assessment of learners (NCEA and Scholarship), development and moderation of certain national standards and qualifications, and evaluation of international qualifications.Leading the thinking around secondary assessment and delivering responsive and robust services will form the core of your new responsibilities.We envisage strong contenders will have:

  • An acknowledged position within the Education sector
  • A knowledge of core government processes
  • A knowledge of te ao Maori
  • Proven successful strategic planning abilities
  • Proven operational delivery abilities
  • Strong relationship building skills and an ability to influence outcomes.
