You will have:
A relevant Engineering Degree; because part of your responsibility will be to provide a high level of technical support to other members of the product development team.
Experience with formal structural design at a senior level.
Recent mechanical design of products where electronic developments must be protected from demanding environments.
A proven track record of leading development groups.
Excellent technical and conversational English; because communicating fluently and accurately within and between research groups and with end users is a key part of this role
Aside from designing products & equipment, you will also be responsible for selecting and specifying resins and tools that are to be used (so experience in this field will be valuable). You will also be involved in field trials of design solutions.
Youll be skilled in SolidWorks, because creating 3-D models for your products will be part of your brief (as will managing the creation of graphics for marketing and product manuals)
Working with tool designers and toolmakers will be second nature to you, because of your time in the industry
You wont let go of your product until it has been successfully manufactured and tested.
