The Open Home Foundation is currently seeking a casual support worker to work with a 14 year old female who is autistic in her family home on the North Shore. You will be expected to support this teenager with personal care so female applicants are preferred. There may also be an opportunity to work in our Family Home in West Auckland.
The successful applicant will be expected to be available to work after school hours with increased hours of work during school holidays and potentially at weekends. Support staff work with the children in all of their day to day activities and assist the family with the usual household chores. There may be times when a sleep over is required.
The ideal applicant will:
- Have experience in working with children with disabilities
- Have a strong empathy with the organisations values, beliefs and practice framework
- Hold a full drivers licence
- Be a NZ resident or hold a current work permit
