Financial Markets Authority is an independent crown entity that monitors and enforces securities, financial reporting and company law as it applies to financial services and products, and securities markets. We also regulate securities exchanges, clearing houses, financial advisers and brokers, trustees and issuers (including issuers of superannuation and kiwisaver schemes). Shortly we will regulate auditors.
We have a number of senior (tier 3) positions available in our Compliance Monitoring and Primary Regulatory Operations teams that are integral to the continuation of FMAs success. With most positions being newly created, this is an excellent opportunity to join FMA at a crucial time where we are building progressive, dynamic and results orientated teams who are dedicated to the financial success of New Zealand.
Auckland candidates will be preferred as we are actively expanding our Auckland office however, exceptionally well suited Wellington candidates will also be considered.
They key roles we are recruiting for include:
- Manager, Commercial Supervision
- Senior Adviser, Commercial Supervision
- Manager Compliance Policy
- Manager, Issuer Disclosure Surveillance
- Manager, Regulatory Services
We are very keen to hear from suitability qualified and experienced candidates with a variety of backgrounds, experience and skills. An obvious preference of a strong financial services background is desirable plus:
- In-depth knowledge of laws and regulations relevant to the financial sector
- Strong operational management skills with the ability to lead teams in a manner that encourages and rewards; openness, mutual cooperation, respect, trust, commitment and energy
and one or more of the following:
- Good working knowledge of Compliance Monitoring systems, strategies, policies and processes
- Experience in financial market oversight activities
- Experience in the management and disclosure of financial products
- Experience in financial product risk management
- Experience in the compliance function at a corporate trustee, registered bank or other financial market participant
A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is required. Advanced analytical, critical thinking and reasoning skills are essential as well as excellent communication and stake holder management skills.
