We have a non-training vacancy in General Surgical Registrar available for immediate start .Wellington Regional Hospital is a brand new hospital with modern facilities and offers exciting opportunities. The General Surgery Department primarily provides a secondary level service for acute and elective General Surgical patients in the Wellington region with a population of 250,000. It also provides specialist tertiary level care to the central north island servicing a population of around 921,000.Working closely with a team of 9 Consultant Surgeons and a supporting team of Registrars and House Officers, the range of surgery includes Breast, Endocrine, Colorectal, Upper GI, Hepatobillary surgery and trauma , and cover paediatric surgery after hours . For this level of role you will need to be a qualified Medical Practitioner, with at least 2 years post-graduate experience and some exposure to a General Surgical service. You will participate on the acute General surgical roster, and may have to relieve general surgery registrars who are on leave, or on night duty. You will also be required to participate on the night roster.
