Otara Health Charitable Trust is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation providing community development, health promotion and health education initiatives for the Otara community and the wider Counties Manukau district.
Otara Health provides innovative health and social wellbeing programmes that result in positive outcomes for families, individuals, communities and funders. The organisation has funding agreements with a range of agencies including District Health Boards and government departments. Services are planned and delivered in collaboration with a wide group of community stakeholders.
Reporting directly to the Board, the Chief Executive will be responsible for leading Otara Health into the future while building on its reputable history. This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader. The role offers variety and the potential to make a real difference in the community while further developing the organisation.
Experience and capabilities sought include:
  • Proven experience in the leadership and management of a service orientated organisation
  • A sound understanding of public health, community development and health promotion
  • Advanced relationship and influencing skills
  • Excellent funding proposal development and revenue-seeking skills
  • Experience in community engagement, especially working with Maori and Pacific communities
  • People leadership including leading a multi-cultural team
  • Expertise in financial and contract management, programme planning and evaluation and quality improvement
