ISO Limited is one of the largest suppliers of stevedoring logistics and cargo handling services on the New Zealand waterfront operating in various key ports around NZ.Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role has a strong emphasis on day to day supervision of the loading and unloading of cargo on vessels arriving at the port. It is an extremely challenging supervisory role with responsibility and suited to experienced people who are not afraid to get their hands dirty and lead from the front.The key responsibilities for this position include:
- Directing and managing the performance of a dedicated team engaged in the task of loading and unloading a vessel
- Ensuring the safety of the team through appropriate communication of standards and procedures, pre-shift safety briefings and on the job guidance
- Managing cargo flow through the effective use of our unique cargo management systems. Includes data input, bar-code scanning and troubleshooting IT hardware issues
- Directing the use of appropriate equipment in a safe and productive manner that contributes to safe practices, damage prevention and productivity
- Liaising with ships officers, principals, marshaling staff and agents to ensure all tasks are coordinated consistent with sequence of discharge and load plans
- Complete and process all required documentation including shift reports, damage reports and discharge and load plans
