It is also the system operator, responsible for the co-ordinating and managing the transmission of electricity across the National Grid which is New Zealands energy backbone and underpins and sustains the countrys economic and social activity.
Currently Transpower are undertaking a huge multi-million dollar capital investment programme as part of the Grid Upgrade Plan (GUP).
One of these major projects is the new underground 220kV cable circuit from Pakuranga to Albany which will reinforce electricity supply in the Auckland, North Auckland and Northland regions.
An exciting opportunity has now been created for two Quality Engineers to join Transpowers NAaN Project Team to oversee quality assurance across the civil and cabling works.
Success will be achieved by supporting all aspects of the project and programme of works to ensure that high quality outcomes are achieved including the safe delivery of the works, to time, budget and specification in accordance with the Grid Upgrade Plan.
We are looking for a tertiary qualified person with a Site Safe certification with proven experience in the installation of power cables and ducts, knowledge of the quality outcomes critical to the success of power cabling projects and previous experience with civil projects in congested urban environments.
Youll have strong knowledge of quality processes including the use of inspection and test plans, health and safety practices and compliance,
Further you will have excellent interpersonal skills, problem solving and planning skills and the ability to maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally.
