This is a great opportunity for an experienced transport or land use modeller to join the largest council in Australasia and be involved in planning for the future of the most liveable city in the world!
Reporting to the Team Leader Transport Modelling, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and development of Council’s fully integrated land use and transport planning models.
You will be involved in developing various land use/ transport plans and policies. You will undertake qualitative and quantitative analyses and provide specialist transport advice to assist the Council and its stakeholders to address transport issues and build an efficient transport system in the Auckland region.
This role would suit a highly-skilled individual who has the ability to communicate with a vast cross section of people as well as the ability to influence those around you. Your ability to think strategically and logically and apply this in a large, complex organisation is essential.
To be successful you will need:
- Advanced knowledge and experience of land use and transport modelling techniques. Experience in the use of Delta land use modelling software and/or the EMME transport planning software is preferred but not essential
- High degree of numeracy skills
- Very good oral and written communication skills and be able to convey technical information to various audience
- Proven ability to initiate and complete projects within given timeframes
- Familiarity with any computer programming language, use of GIS software is a plus
- A tertiary qualification in Geography, Planning, Transport Planning, Engineering or related field. A post graduate qualification is preferred but not essential
