The Equity Office works closely with the Director of the Centre of Pacific Studies and the Pacific Reference Group.To perform its role effectively, the Equity Office must be a valued source of expertise within and beyond the University. It must be seen to catalyse thought leadership in equity, based on a robust evidence base, strong relationships and service. Its role includes influencing strategic direction, planning and reporting as well as supporting thinking and behaviour consistent with achieving the University’s commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity objectives and strategic goals.Applications are invited for the new full-time role of Director, Student Equity reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Equity. You will be responsible for leading student equity strategy and policy development, planning, monitoring and reporting in the University. This leadership will be based on evidence from international and national research, best practice and relationships with benchmark Universities and appropriate practitioners and networks.This role will also lead identification of opportunities for the University to innovate in student equity policy, research and practice including achieving equity outcomes in line with the Equity Lifecycle approach for all students.Your strategic expertise, policy leadership, innovative thinking, understanding of the tertiary sector and successful stakeholder engagement with diverse groups will be key to meeting the challenges in this role.
