ELECTRIX (www.electrix.co.nz)is a large, established and leading provider of electrical and gas construction, maintenance and project services in New Zealand and Australia with over 900 employees in New Zealand alone.

We are seeking the services of an Operations Support Manager for our Transmission Lines Services (TLS) Division. This position will ideally operate from Hamilton, but other base locations may be possible, and would require some travel to the regions from time to time.

YOUR KEY PURPOSE will be to provide guidance, leadership and coordination to the TLS Division support team, to ensure the services provided to regional operating units are of the highest quality with specific focus on the development and management of work procedures, business processes, engineering, quality and assistance with compliance of these.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Identify and recommend strategic and technical projects and ensure they are executed in a professional and timely manner through specialists and support employees.
  • Ensuring that business improvement actions and initiatives are implemented with an integrated approach across the functions of the divisions operational support.
  • Delivery of operational support services to regional operating units.
  • Identify areas of non-consistency and non-compliance across regional operating units and drive necessary improvements to correct.
  • Ensure alignment with greater Electrix systems and processes.
  • Ensure alignment of our systems and processes with that of our major clients.
  • Manage and coordinate divisional data and information to support divisional decisions and strategies
  • Advising divisional management on strategic business improvements.

EDUCATION

  • Relevant business qualificationsor a technical/tertiaryqualification is desirable but not essential.

YOU CAN / HAVE

  • Make complex decisions independently.
  • Lead, direct and motivate your team to achieve their objectives
  • A high level of expertise in the area of civil or structural construction or the HV electrical sector
  • Experience in performance and change management processes and systems.
  • Sound organisation and planning skills, with special reference to the administrative and project requirements of the role.
  • Competence in relevant software and database programmes.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • Logical and lateral problem solving ability.
