Fletcher EQR (signifying Earthquake Recovery), a newly formed business unit of Fletcher Construction has been commissioned by the EQC to manage the repair of earthquake damaged residential properties in Canterbury.Fletcher EQR has established localised Hub offices and construction teams based in the community dedicated to the task of completing repair work on residential homes.As part of this effort, we have an opportunity for Health and Safety Managers to join the Fletcher EQR team.You will work with a range of independent contractors accredited under the residential repair programme and will focus on coaching those Contractors to improve their current H&S practices. This is a challenging role suited to those who are passionate about health and safety and keen to be an instrumental part of educating and raising the H&S performance across the entire industry.We are interested to talk with candidates who can offer a proven H&S track record, ideally within the construction or building industries. You must have current knowledge of the HSE Act, along with expertise in the development and delivery of a H&S Management Plan. You will also have good experience in monitoring, inspecting and auditing workplaces, as well as accident & incident investigation, analysis and reporting.More importantly, we are looking for candidates who can take the work history we have outlined above and utilise that within a coaching and development role. You will be instrumental in working with contractors to assist them with developing their own H&S policies, plans and procedures.You will be someone with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to positively influence those you are advising.
