Human Resources forms part of our Corporate Services team. We provide support to the Inland Revenue business through HR strategy and advice that contributes to IR’s delivery of it’s strategic priorities and services to New Zealanders.

The Human Resource Manager (Business Partnerships) plays a critical role in managing the interface between HR and the business. Reporting directly to the Group Manager, Human Resources this role is primarily responsible for facilitating the relationships between HR and three key business partners (Policy Advice, Office of the Chief Tax Counsel and Corporate Services).

As a credible and respected professional you will participate as a member of senior management teams, contributing to business planning and decision making processes, and leading the identification of areas for improvement in organisational design and contemporary HR practices.

Specifically you will be responsible for:

  • Advice and support on HR related issues and risks to the Deputy Commissioners/Chief Tax Counsel.
  • Leading and developing a team of HR professionals to best support the business‘s operational and strategic HR needs.
  • The delivery of HR tools, systems, policies and processes, as well as advice on their application.

To be considered for this role applicants must be able to demonstrate their experience in the following:

  • Stakeholder and Relationship Management – specifically how you adapt your interpersonal style and relationship management practices to meet the needs of a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • People leadership – how you would lead and develop a team of HR professionals
  • Generalist HR experience – your experience working with business partners across a broad range of HR issues and practices to positively impact on business outcomes.
