Our Taupo based client is a Maori Corporate with a diverse range of business portfolios which are creating sound financial returns to its owners. Integral in all their business practices is their fundamental belief to be at one with their customary land and taonga. Whilst establishing sustainable and commercially driven projects the group has had an innovative and unique approach to wealth generation. They have multiple revenue streams from a diverse range of business investments including primary industries, energy and telecommunications.
This role is established to initially manage the transition of the Groups financial operations from the external provider to an internal function. Therefore we are looking for a Group Financial Controller with the financial prowess for phase one, then with the enthusiasm for actively ensuring a return on investment.
As Group Financial Controller, you will be an integral member of the small management team, and report to the Group General Manager and manage and direct the Business Analyst. The role has overall responsibility for establishing the Groups financial and accounting systems and ensuring the Groups compliance for all treasury, statutory, taxation, corporate financial affairs including legal risk management. The remit also includes contract management, forecasting, budgeting, and the auditing processes. Researching and project managing the IT system, and the ensuing implementation plus developing an environment of continual financial and systems evaluation, process improvement is critical.
You will ensure timely and accurate reporting, and enjoy presenting not only the results but your recommendations. Therefore your interpersonal skills are important, and your enthusiasm and energy for being a pivotal manager in this fresh new team. An empathy for the organisations own culture and approach to business will be important.
We ask for a tertiary qualification at least to CA or equivalent, and demonstrable Financial leadership achievements.
