Auckland Transport is passionate about delivering cost effective and sustainable transport options to the people and businesses of Auckland. To do this we work with multiple stakeholders to design, implement and manage significant transport projects. Key to this is the implementation of key procurement and services contract management strategies for public transport services.
As the PT Commercial Manager you will bring your extensive experience in procuring and managing service contracts through competitive tendering and supplier negotiations coupled with your excellent management, commercial and financial skills to ensure all Public Transport service (bus, rail and ferry) procurements are delivered on time, to budget and are managed effectively on an on-going basis.
Driven to achieve outcomes and with a proven ability to delegate effectively and empower others, you will lead a commercial and business focused team in all commercial, financial, procurement and funding activities of the Public Transport Operations Department; driving improved short and medium term public transport business outcomes.
With your experience in both private and public sector commercial and contract management, you will have the chance to lead a change within local government and industry sectors; developing and implementing a new public private partnership focused procurement and commercial model for public transport in New Zealand. To do so, you will draw on highly developed interpersonal and relationship skills to work with key stakeholders including the Ministry of Transport, NZTA and service providers also leading in commercial negotiations with supply partners.
