A number of opportunities have arisen for corporate and commercial lawyers at national and international top-tier and large local practices in Canberra, Australia.Experienced commercial lawyers with at least 3 years post-admission experience are encouraged to apply. An ability to demonstrate exceptional skills and extensive commercial drafting experience is essential.
The roles primarilyinvolve drafting and preparation of advice in relation to government procurement, including structuring, documenting and conducting procurement processes for government projects. The roles also involve drafting and advice in relation to a range of other matters of a corporate and commercial nature, including corporate governance, financing and restructuring, equity and trusts, information technology and intellectual property law, and probity and tendering.
You will have outstanding drafting skills. While you may have gained these skills in a purely corporate and commercial environment, you may also have gained them in a discreet legislative drafting environment in government or the private sector. Overall, your written and oral communication skills will be of the highest order. Additionally, you will be willing to contribute to the work of the team and the development of the practice. The working environment is very busy but seriously collegiate.
A very competitive salary will be negotiated for the right candidates based on experience. Admission to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory, or a right to be so admitted, is essential.
