Youth Consumer Advisor 0.2 FTEWe are seeking to appoint a Youth Consumer Advisor for 8 hours per week to enable the development and implementation of strategies to provide a youth consumer perspective at all levels of CAMHS youth mental health service delivery.The key components to this role include;
- Actively participatingas part ofthe service development team
- Implementation of the consumer participation framework
- Promoting a recovery and resiliency perspective to other staff and to young people
The ideal candidate;
- Will have personal experience of mental health issues and is a past user of a Child and Youth Mental Health Service
- Is of youth age.
- Has youth consumer advisor experience in Mental Health Services
- Can successfully engage with young people
- Understands the issues of young people and their family, whaanau regarding mental health and illness
- Can apply their own experiences to relevant aspects of this role
- Has established networks with other young people
- Has knowledge of the mental health sector
- Has an understanding of relevant quality improvement frameworks
- Have a high level of verbal, written and presentation skills
