New Zealand Oil Services Limited is the largest terminal operating company in New Zealand. Our business is to provide terminal operations services on behalf of our owners (BP and Z Energy) at Napier, New Plymouth, Hutt City, Mt Maunganui, Nelson, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin. Our head office is in Wellington.
Our role is to ensure the safe, efficient and effective receipt, storage and load out of product and that terminal performance is maximised through safe, efficient and effective operating practices and procedures. The ability to work well in small teams and to communicate clearly and effectively are essential for success. A proactive, can do attitude and a high level of self management are expected from our people.
Reporting to the Terminal Operations Manager, this position is part of a small team that is involved in the day-to-day operation of the terminal. Specific activities include tanker discharge operations, bunker liaison and environmental management. The position combines practical hands-on tasks and office-based duties.
To be successful in this position you will preferably have some practical operating experience in a dynamic environment coupled with some frontline supervision experience. Specific skill sets include:

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask

Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills, including supervising contracted resources

High level of computer literacy and comfortable with operating and maintaining various automation system packages

Attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures

New Zealand Oil Services Limited operates a 24 hour, 7 day a week on-demand business. While there are no set shifts or rosters, terminal operations personnel are expected to be available to work the hours that are necessary to meet the demands of our customers.
