Our client is an ASX and NZSX listed mining company that has completed a corporate strategic realignment to position themselves to capitalise on their high-quality assets, for sale to international markets. They are focused on becoming a producer of high quality coking and thermal coal. Due to the continued expansion of their significant coal interests, this high-profile mining company has an immediate need for an Operations Manager.
This pivotal role reports directly to the General Manager. The successful candidate will be a highly experienced Coal professional with at least five years experience within a simular position.
Position Duties
- Directly manage statutory managers of the mining operations
- Commitment to ensuring environmental obligations are met
- Ensure H&S, environmental and production requirements are met
- Contract management
- Preparation of budget and forecasts

This position is offered on a residential basis on the South Island of New Zealand. Successful candidates from Australia will be offered attractive relocation provision and initial accommodation (2 months). An Executive level remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will have relevant tertiary qualification (mine engineering or related degree) and a demonstrated excellent in leadership in health and safety.
