The Education, Curriculum and Performance team works closely with schools in developing projects and initiatives to lift student achievement and bring about change for and with schools, providers and communities.Improving Maori education achievement is high priority for the Ministry. The Senior Adviser works as part of the ECP team to strengthen educational performance in schools with high Maori roles and with Kura kaupapa Maori using evidence and data on Maori student achievement and working with schools to design and implement projects to improve educational achievement for Maori.The successful applicant will also have specialist skills and experience in at least one of the following:
- Maori medium education
- Contributing directly to Maori achievement in English medium programmes with high numbers of Maori students
- Effectively engaging with whanau and iwi on education issues.
