An experienced computer professional is required to deliver computer hardware engineering services to a variety of valued customers in Dunedin and Otago.
Willis White & Co Ltd is a technically strong hardware company and this hands-on technicians role includes the support of a varied installed hardware base, the installation of new hardware, the installation and support of Microsoft networks, on-site and remote infrastructure maintenance, server upgrades, troubleshooting and break-fix work. We offer managed services, hosting, leasing and telephony. We have strong points of difference and our directors perceive significant opportunities in our field.
Preferably you will have industry recognised qualifications, but relevant experience is more important.
You will have worked previously in a field systems engineering role where you have been dealing directly with clients providing technical and hardware support. You will be skilled at evaluating clients needs at multiple levels, and while on site delivering technical services, you will be able to recognise and develop new business opportunities. You will be a strong communicator with good interpersonal skills and enjoy client contact. There will be some sales DNA in your genes and you will be ready for the next step up in your career!
We are a Dunedin based computer hardware business with divisions in Christchurch and Dunedin. This is an exciting time for us as we expand on over 20 years of South Island experience in Systems Engineering and selling and leasing IT platforms to businesses.
Candidates preferably will have experience of the following:
Working on client sites installing and supporting networks
Minimum 3 years practical experience in hardware and systems engineering
Windows Server 2003/2008 and SBS and Terminal Server
Exchange 2003/2007/2010
Automated managed solutions
VOIP telephony systems
Firewalls and LAN / WAN infrastructure
Operating Systems XP / Vista / 7
Industry recognised qualifications (e.g. MSCE)
Email and domain configuration
Backup solutions
Hardware diagnostics
You will have an excellent command of both written and oral English with the ability to communicate well with non-technical people. You will enjoy working with a variety of clients and situations and be committed to providing excellent customer service. You will have the ability to both be a team member and to be well organised and efficient while frequently working alone.
You must currently be entitled to work indefinitely in New Zealand.
