TPI employs over 7000 people in numerous and diverse occupations and the HR team play a key role in the success of the organisation.
Transpacific Industries Group has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate HR professional to join our team. The role will be based in Christchurch and is responsible for providing HR expertise and services to our businesses throughout the South Island.
Key responsibilities of the position will include;
  • Advising on and managing general people issues;
  • Support, educate and coach key stakeholders on HR best practices;
  • Provide front-line support and advice on employment relations matters;
  • Facilitate or lead employment relations mediation and/or investigation activities;
  • Provide support and facilitate Industrial Relations issues and Collective Bargaining;
  • Assist in the implementation and administration of HR policies;
  • Conducting job evaluations;
  • Workforce planning; and
  • Play a key role in HR projects
You will play a crucial role in driving and supporting change initiatives and coaching our leaders so that we are continuously improving our organisational effectiveness. Your role will have an operational and strategic HR Focus, whilst being part of a convergent, dynamic and capable HR team.
To succeed in this role, you will hold relevant HR tertiary qualifications. You will have highly developed coaching, consultative and partnering skills, along with experience in successfully managing relationships and communicating with employees across all levels of our diverse work force.
Expertise in mediation, workplace investigations, job evaluations, talent management, Employment Relations, Industrial Relations, workforce planning and HR project management/delivery would be highly regarded. It is preferable that your HR generalist background comes from an industrial, logistic, waste or manufacturing environment. Commercial acumen would be a distinct advantage.
