A successful, progressive and developing NZ mining company has recently opened this attractive opportunity. This exciting role sits amongst the team responsible for headingproject work for new operations/sites and for existing major mining operations.Amongst of team of highly regarded Project Managers and Project Directors, you will be immersed in a busy and exciting environment,spearheading new development and redevelopment projects for this highly progressive and rapidly expanding organisation. Projects will revolve aroundmining sites and other natural resource collection operations, and their supporting infrastructure and logistical/transportation requirements.The role will be focused on:
- Gathering information on project progress and compiling reports on this to the Project Management Office (PMO) Manager
- Playing a part in the development of project management/project delivery systems and tools utilised by the PMO
- Providing support to multiple Project Managers to ensure PM workload demands are met, and that funding, project planning, execution, project milestones and closure objectives are met as set out by the organisation
- Collection and comparison of data from past and present projects to analyse performance and document lessons learnt
- Be involved in the identification of needs for, and delivery of training to members of the PMO under guidance of the PMO Manager
Experience in a client side capacity or in a consulting environment for project delivery is important for this role, though extensive experience is not necessarily required. Specific criteria we will be seeking to identify are:
- BEng Civil, Mining, Process, Geology, or a BCom, giving you a relevant technical and/or professional grounding
- Proven experience (level is negotiable) in Project Management, which could include mining or other natural resource collection projects, heavy industrial construction, energy, civil construction, land development, public infrastructure or even major building construction
- Familiarity with project management concepts such as feasibility analysis, design management, public authority liaison, planning/programming, construction delivery, cost management and completion/handover
- Strong organisational skills, and an ability to multi-task and provide input to multiple projects at any one time.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills for a variety of internal and external stakeholder groups
