Reporting to the Manager Council Plan this role will facilitate Auckland Council’s strategic asset management in alignment with the Auckland Plan and other strategic documents and provide input into the delivery of Council Long Term Plan.
As the subject matter expert, you will be responsible for providing credible and top-notch advice and guidance on all asset management matters across council and the CCO’s.
You will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring on strategic asset management planning that underpins the Council Long Term Plan and provides strategic directions on Asset Management improvement programme.
This busy role would suit a ‘big-picture’ thinker who has the ability to challenge the norm and think outside the box.
Excellent organisation and written communication skills are essential as is your methodical approach and excellent relationship management skills.

To be successful you will need:
- A tertiary qualification in planning, economics, business, engineering or related discipline
- A minimum of five years experience in planning or engineering, preferably in a political or highly complex organisation
- Extensive knowledge and experience with asset management processes and systems
- Experience in the use of MS Office applications particularly MS Project
