With a strong culture based on diversity and equal employment, the Hail Creek site is characterised by its high performance and strong safety record.An exciting opportunity exists for a mining professional to develop their expertise in a challenging open-pit environment. AsSenior Mining Engineer you will be confident and self-motivated in your ability to deliver outcomes through effective change management and influence.Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, you will be working as part of the Mine Planning Team responsible for:
  • Co-ordinate your team in the preparation of accurate and achievable short term mine plans & schedules;
  • Work closely with Short Term Planning Superintendent , Senior Dragline, Drill and Blast Engineer and Senior Truck and Shovel Engineer to ensure delivery of ROM coal to meet AOP / Quarterly reforecast requirements;
  • Manage the numerous schedule interaction to enable efficient mining operations;
  • Driving adherence to planning processes and meeting deliverables.
You will possess:
  • Experience in mine planning in Truck & Shovel, Dragline or Drill & Blast
  • Tertiary engineering qualifications
  • Solid background in design with the use of mine planning software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to think at a strategic level within large scale operations
