Collection Room / Mobile Service Positions PT / FT plus FT Fixed-Term Diagnostic Medlab has provided highly valued community laboratory services to the greater Auckland region for over 70 years. We operate from a state-of-the-art testing facility in Ellerslie and hold IANZ quality accreditation in all disciplines, including our collection centres. We are committed to providing quality pathology services to patients referred from private Specialists and Fertility Clinics, inpatients at Private Hospitals and residents of Rest Homes and Aged Care facilities. We also provide cervical screening and HPV testing services under our National Cervical Screening Programme contract and a wide range of commercial, workplace and privately funded testing.Your primary responsibility will be the collection of specimens whilst providing great customer service. To be successful, a critical eye for detail, fantastic customer service skills and a positive, happy attitude are all essential, as is the ability to work to tight deadlines and deal with a busy waiting room. You will enjoy the interactions with a wide variety of patients, with other team members and build relationships with other health professionals.The hours of our part-time positions are 20-30 hours worked over Monday to Friday with start times of 7.30am. Ideally, you would need to be available for training on a full-time basis for the first 2 weeks of employment, although this is negotiable.For full-time rooms positions, a normal working day roster is 7.30am to 5.00pm, however if the service requires you will need to be available for eight hour rostered shifts between 7:30am and 7:00pm, Monday to Friday. While this position is predominantly rooms based, there will be the requirement for you to undertake a car run from the room occasionally if necessary, so to be considered for this, you would need to have a full drivers license and be confident in driving a manual vehicle.We have two 12 month full-time fixed-term mobile services positions available. There will be some rooms work involved, however you will predominantly be based out and about on our car runs. For these positions you will need a full driver’s licence with confidence in driving both manual and automatic vehicles, love to be on the go, and be able to keep a cool head in Auckland traffic. A typical shift pattern for mobile services is 7.30am to 4.30pm or 7.45pm to 4.45pm, Monday to Friday.For all positions there is overtime of one rostered weekend day in every three to four weeks. This is usually a four to six hour shift.
