With the Christchurch rebuild projects due to start in the future contractors are beginning to take expressions of interest and start the interview process prior to the physical works starting. This Civil Construction Company is currently looking for a Civil Contract Manager to join the project team and help manage the delivery of reconstruction works.

As the Contract Manager, you will be responsible for managing the construction works ensuring a high level of client satisfaction has been achieved. Value of each project ranges between $40M – $60M.

The scope of work will involve construction of roads, bridges, kerb & channel, installation of water & wastewater & drainage possibly infrastructure facilities such as pumping stations.

Your keyresponsibilities will beto manage the project including: time, quality, safety and costing on projects. Construction management of the project, programming and planning, subcontractors, staff, plant and resource management on site, claims & variations, QA, H&S and liaising with consultants, clients and subcontractors.

To be successful:Ideally you will be a qualified with a BE Civil or NZCE, and have minimum of 10 years of civil construction experience on site, with later years focused on construction management. Having experience on large infrastructure construction projects will be of definite advantage. Strong construction experience on roading, civil infrastructure, water and drainage projects is essential for this role.

You will be an effective communicator with strong planning and organisation skills. Having focus on relationship management and strong commercial acumen is equally important for this position
