This is a top opportunity to take charge of the busy transport function for this NZ family-owned manufacturer and exporter.
You will have responsibility for 6 company-owned vehicles travelling the North Island plus non-company vehicles as required. Youll deal with Freight forwarders and MAF for both import and export of containers. The scope of the role means it is an integral and vital part of the company. The incumbent has been in it for 5 years and has done it well injecting competence, thoughtfulness, a sense of urgency and a great dose of humour.
To succeed at this role, youll need to be fast-paced and able to juggle priorities. Youll build trusting relationships easily and also manage to soothe fevered customer on the phone when necessary. Youll need to demonstrate an affinity for detailed paperwork for Customs and MAF. But just as importantly, youll want to have a career in a company that has been around nearly 85 years and is experiencing significant growth. There are many long-term employees here; some as long as 35 years.
