As a Personal Insurance Consultant your role is not simply selling insurance, and being a good salesperson is not simply about achieving your targets – to be the best it is about taking the time to really understand our customers so you can provide a service tailored to their individual needs.It’s about identifying opportunities and asking the right questions to maximise the quality of their interaction with State.
To achieve this you will excel at listening to customers’ needs, offering the best solution possible. You willbe a strong communicator, able toeffectively form relationships withcustomersover the telephone.You will also need to be extremely organised with the ability to process high volumes of work accurately and efficiently.Previous sales and/or call centre experience would be an advantage; however we welcome applications from those who have a keen interest in excelling in this environment as full comprehensive training will be given.

These roles are part-time and you may be rostered to work either Option A or Option B below:
- Option A: Monday 4pm-9pm, Tuesday 4pm-9pm, Saturday 8am-1pm, Sunday 8am-1pm (rostered days off Wednesday to Friday)
- Option B: Monday 3pm – 8pm, Friday 3pm-8pm, Saturday 9am- 2pm, Sunday 9am -2pm (rostered days off Tuesday to Thursday)
The successful candidates will need to be available to start training on Monday,12 September 2011. Training will be Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm and may involve paid travel to Auckland.
