Strange that this role is normally the grounds of a permanent person, but needs must and the pressure is on so along came a contract role Just right for an experienced systems administrator! There is a real art in ensuring systems are available and running only when things are working do people seem to notice, which is probably when ‘cudos’ for the administrator is forthcoming! The company is one which is large and complex, with a range of platforms, dependencies. So you will need to be confident and know what you are doing when it comes to enterprise administration. There is a real pride on delivering leading and robust operational environments within this company so someone who shares that passion will fit right in.Skills required…?Recent experience within a network administration role; working with enterprise environments.?Strong understanding of MS Server platforms Server 2008 R2, Exchange, IIS, ISA, SQL Server etc.?Excellent understanding of user account management and control AD, groups, virus protection and traffic monitoring.?Proven experience with server management tasks such as backup/restore, patching, upgrades; ensuring system stability.?Good exposure to server hardware architecture along with desktop/user environments including IBM, HP, Dell.?Confident with SAN, archiving and storage solutions QNAP, EMC, Dell, HP etc?Recent experience with VMware admin, management and control.?Comfortable with application setup, driving mapping and general systems reporting; any experience with Citrix, Unix or other systems integration a bonus.?Industry certifications always a bonus MCSE, MCP or other always welcomed.This contract will be the start of something great, that’s if you are confident enough to take it on!
