The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) was established by the Government in April to lead and coordinate the ongoing recovery effort in greater Christchurch following the devastating earthquakes of September 2010 and February 2011. It is working with the wider community to deliver integrated and timely decision making across a range of public and private sector organisations.
We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer to lead our finance function and assist in the achievement of our strategic objectives. This unique opportunity will allow you to combine your financial leadership and operational experience to provide high quality insight and advice to the Chief Executive and Leadership Team on a range of matters including strategic, organisational and operational financial planning, reporting, issues and risks. Youll provide forward-looking financial strategies and advice and budgeting of new initiatives. Youll also be responsible for risk management and monitoring and building financial management capability among managers. Given the start up nature of CERA there will be a number of immediate deliverables in finalising budget, reporting and staffing requirements.
Were seeking an exceptional individual with a record of success in delivering financial leadership at both strategic and operational levels, experienced in operating at CFO level or equivalent. Youll be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant with a sound working knowledge of government and state sector processes and the desire and ability to develop and implement best practice.
