Tauranga Leisure proudly manages the network of indoor recreational facilities on behalf of Tauranga City Council. We are a subsidiary company of Community Leisure Management, a company with a long and successful history of managing recreational facilities across NZ.

The Papamoa Sport & Recreation Centre is located on the grounds of the Gordon Spratt Reserve, an active reserve that plays host to a number of sporting codes. The centre has multiple spaces for hire and is a popular venue for community groups as well as private functions. A fitness centre and licensed sports caf are also included in the mix making this a unique and popular facility, despite its relatively small size.
The Role:
This is a part time role, working two in every four weekends and every Friday afternoon. The objective of this role is for the successful candidate to provide a high level of customer service to our clientele, prescribe and monitor individual exercise programmes as well as fitness testing, administer bookings, process transactions and carry out general administration and centre duties.
The Person:
This position is one with a high degree of customer and administration focus. It is imperative that you have competent computer skills and are familiar with using Microsoft Office. You will have a can do attitude. A strong commonsense approach is needed and because the position is often sole charge, you must be able to work autonomously. It is essential that you take pride in your workplace and are prepared to keep the facility looking spic and span. You will be honest, reliable and flexible to work rostered shifts. This is a physical role so you will need to be physically able to lift/move equipment.
You will have:
  • Knowledge and experience in the sport, fitness and recreation industry
  • Minimum two year proven customer service and administration experience
  • Minimum of a Level 3 Certificate in Sport and Recreation and/or Fitness
  • REPS accreditation
  • Workplace first aid certified.
