To ensure the continued provision of robust and efficient application support services to the organisation this newly created role will provide you with both opportunity and challenge. It is a superb opportunity for you to combine your management skills and your technical knowledge to help define and then deliver the vision for a new team to provide exceptional service across the organisations multiple business units.
In this role you will be leading a team of application support specialists and database administrators that provide responsive, effective and quality 3rd level applications and data base analysis and administration services across the business. You will also be responsible for Capacity Management, configuration management of all business systems, application deployment, patch and release management as well as eeffectively managing vendor services and performance.
You will possess some (if not all) of the following attributes;
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Senior Database Administrator or similar role
- Well developed resource planning skills, combined with the ability to lead and motivate a team of specialist staff
- Experience in managing Websphere, DB2, Oracle and Microsoft dominant environments
- Pproven experience in analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of multi-user relational Databases and systems integration both in Java and .Net
- Experience in managing and supporting web based applications and eextensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle
- Understands the principles of Enterprise Service Bus and it’s benefits
- Experienced in change, release and project management methods
- Problem solving skills and Service improvement.
