Christchurch & Canterbury Tourism is the organisation responsible for promoting tourism in the region and maximising the return from visitors. The Media Executive is based in our Christchurch Airport office and reports to the Marketing Manager.
The key purpose of this position is to increase awareness and preference for Christchurch & Canterbury through PR activity that ensures the region is top of mind and presents compelling reasons to travel now.
The Media Executive will assist in the development and implementation of the Public Relations and Media strategy. You will work with the Marketing Manager to actively promote the city and region to international and domestic media through the development of itineraries and hosting media on familiarisation trips. As well as also managing the media database, sending regular newsletters and providing general administrative support for the marketing team as required.
To succeed in this role you will ideally have a marketing qualification and/or tourism industry experience, coupled with a passion for innovative marketing particularly in the media and PR environment. The ability to build strong relationships and have a personality that exudes confidence and initiative are also key components of the role.
