Our client is a leading manufacturer of electronics equipment. They are a well established company with an excellent reputation for the quality of their manufacturing processes.
Currently they have a great opportunity for a senior level production and test engineer.
In this position, you will be providing all the background requirements for manufacturing particularly around the introduction of new products and including test engineering. They anticipate that about 70% of the job will be as a production engineer and the balance as a test engineer. You will be working with a strong team of production engineers and one other test engineer.
Key elements of the job include:
- Project managing NPI from an engineering and test perspective
- Planning and developing robust manufacturing and test methods including tooling, work flow, costing and layout
- Provide quality and rate build targets for manufacturing and test
- Acting as a primary contact for customers for manufacturing and test
- Recommend DFM and DFT solutions
- BOMs
- Design test jigs and write the corresponding software in Labview
To do this job successfully you will need:
- A qualification in engineering such as a BE in electronics or similar
- Strong NPI production engineering experience in high volume electronics manufacturing
- Experience as a test engineer i.e. designing test jigs and writing relevant software
It is unlikely you will be able to cope with this job unless you have a good 7/8 years of relevant experience.
