Do you have a wealth of knowledge and skill in the management and control of hazardous substances? Well we have just the role for you!
We are currently seeking a Hazardous Substances Advisor who will work within our Logistics Policy and Doctrine Team. The position is responsible for developing NZDF’s hazardous substances policies and codes of practices, and acting as NZDF’s prime technical advisor to senior managers and personnel at the work face
You will be passionate about safe hazardous substances management and will not be shy about enforcing the policies and codes of practices that you have developed. You will thoroughly know the ins and outs of the HSNO Act and how it should be applied to the NZDF including its overseas missions.
With your excellent communication and relationship management skills, you will have the ability to maintain workplace relationships amongst a wide variety of people and build consensus among stakeholders. You will have gained workplace qualifications such as ‘test certifier’ or ‘approved handler’ of hazardous substances. You may have also tertiary level hazardous substances and health and safety qualifications.
