Counsellor/Child TherapistSTOP Childrens Programme Christchurch The STOP Programmes make a difference in the lives of families affected by sexual abuse. STOP is a specialist provider of high quality community-based treatment programmes for adolescents who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour and for children who have exhibited concerning sexualized behaviour. STOP has achieved a reputation for supportive staff development through high quality supervision and training opportunities and a positive and professionally stimulating work environment for employees.We are seeking to employ a highly motivated professional for this part-time (32 hours) position in our Childrens Programme based in Christchurch. The role involves therapy with the child in the context of their family, work with the school and with other community agencies involved with the child. The successful applicant will have the following attributes, skills and experience: Be a passionate advocate for the safety and well being of children Have proven therapeutic experience and skills in clinical work with children Experience in working along-side and supporting families in stressful situations Ability to work closely with the childs school and social systems A recognized qualification in child psychotherapy, counseling, psychology, family therapy or equivalent A commitment to being part of a supportive and dynamic interdisciplinary team Experience of working in the area of sexual abuse would be preferable For more information contact Maureen Lorimer, Clinical Manager:Tel 021 0773275 or Email : maureen@stop.org.nz Visit our website www.stop.org.nz Applications close Sunday 31 July 2011
