Our team of senior advisors and advisors are passionate about working with and developing communities throughout Auckland City.We are assisting communities and their networks, providing them with direction and advice, and working towards successful engagements of diverse groups.
Your primary emphasis will be providing input to, and delivering, a place-focused community development plan.This role requires developing and supporting networks, local leadership and agency relationships, strengthening bonds between council and local community.
As a Senior Advisor you will:
- Develop and implement projects and provide advise and support to community groups to achieve community development outcomes
- Develop strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, enabling effective and collaborative working with the community and voluntary sector, local and central government agencies
- Manage a team of community development practitioners, including workload, finances and performance
- Ensure thorough and accurate management processes and administrative systems are in place to support project planning, effective communication, QA, risk management and project evaluation
- Be responsible for an allocated portfolio of work focusing on a particular area of Auckland
As the perfect person for this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in a related field and/or a minimum of five years experience, possess well-developed project management, strong relationship, negotiation and political skills and have the ability to motivate and manage a team.
