Powerco Limited is a leading New Zealand energy utility with electricity and gas networks connecting 410,000 consumers across the North Island.

The purpose of this position is to provide SQL specialist skills to support the IS Enterprise Infrastructure within Powerco who rely heavily on IS Server infrastructure to run its business. It would be advantageous to have experience in the following: Microsoft SharePoint, be a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or ITIL foundation certified.
You will also:
- Be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the company database architecture (i.e. SQL Clustering and Instances)
- Develop and design database strategies, monitoring and improving database performance and planning for future expansion requirements
- Plan, co-ordinate and implement security measures to safeguard the company databases
- Provide appropriate and reliable systems to meet business requirements
You will need:
- A Tertiary Degree or Diploma in a relevant IT discipline
- To be a Microsoft Certified Professional
- Strong teamwork, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Extensive database administration experience
- A high standard of verbal and written business communication skills
