Turnover was $18 million last financial year and these positions build on significant recent growth.
PrimePort is now seeking the services of a certificated Marine Engineer, with marine qualification in the range of MEC 1 to MEC 4. Joining a highly experienced small team who pride themselves in being able to offer high standards and assured engineering solutions, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of two large twin screw harbour tugs, a pilot launch and associated plant. You will be required to man the tugs and from time to time coastal voyages. Multidisciplinary assistance from other parts of the port means that your team works closely across all aspects of the shipping operation. This position builds on significant recent growth and the opportunity to be mentored for advancement into the lead role of Chief Engineer within two years exists.
It is important that you can demonstrate ‘hands on’ experience in marine engine maintenance and vessel systems; knowledge of marine equipment and general machinery; an understanding of the SSM and SOLAS rules and regulations, and be familiar with computer Planned Maintenance Systems. You should have strong leadership qualities and the ability to think outside the square when dealing with complex problems combined with a motivated ‘can do’ attitude.
